Public Relations and Strategic Communications Overview

The Public Relations and Strategic Communications department guides corporate public relations and strategic communication initiatives. The department provides oversight of both external and internal messaging, employee communications, including the SharePoint platform, and company publications such as the annual report and sustainability report. Media relations and crisis response communications also are included in the scope of the team. With a focus on integrated communications, the department proactively seeks opportunities to build company reputation and help establish stakeholder relationships that position Chesapeake as a leader in the industry.

Ms. Patterson is the Manager of Public Relations and Strategic Communications and has been with Chesapeake Utilities for one year.

Roles and Responsibilities

As Manager of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Brianna oversees both external and internal communications. Externally, that includes, among other things, media relations, corporate social media, reputation risk management, such as when public protest to projects threatens our ability to do business, and the publication of pieces such as the annual report. Internally, the role responsibilities include corporate messaging, mass employee communication and management of communication channels.
